Supporting Children

Blossom with guidance

“In my many years’ experience working with children, I have been privileged to watch them blossom with confidence and realise they have the capacity to truly shine with the right guidance and support behind them” - Louise Johnson, Director, and Senior Psychologist at 4thought.

Early Intervention

We recognise and honour the profound impact of working with children during this truly formative period in developing their self-conception, self-awareness, and self-confidence. We are driven to support them in realising their power, potential and capacities through encouraging them to value and embrace themselves as a unique being and someone who is worthy of being treated with respect and kindness by others.

Emotional World

We coach children to use their emotions in healthy ways to navigate life’s challenges. Possessing this ability promotes resilience, confidence and an ”I can” attitude. It is vital that children and parents understand the secret language of emotions and how we can tune in, respond, and channel emotions into proactive behaviours, interactions, and conversations which enhance our lives rather than create the potential for further distress.

Child-Parent Relationship

The relationships we have with each other as parents and children can be some of the most profoundly influential and impactful in our life experience. At 4thought we respect the significance of this bond, and view working compassionately with parents as a vital in effectively supporting children.

Special Needs

Neurodiverse children, children with special needs, and those experiencing learning difficulties benefit from therapeutic support in building socialisation skills, self-esteem, and identity, which in turn supports the development of emotional resilience.
