Private Health Insurance
If you opt to claim privately, you will be emailed a receipt after the payment of each consultation that you can submit directly to your private health insurer. Rebate amounts and number of rebate-eligible sessions will depend entirely on your insurance company and health insurance plan. We recommend checking with your private insurer so you can make an informed decision.
Medicare Rebates
Medicare rebates are currently available through the Federal Government's Better Access Scheme. Eligibility is determined by a General Practitioner (GP), Psychiatrist, or Paediatrician who will assess clients and, if they fit the criteria, will create an individualised Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) and associated referral. Both are required for rebate to be claimed. Considering the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on individual and community mental health, the government has increased the maximum number of rebate-eligible sessions from 10, to 20 per calendar year.
Please refer to the Admin & Accounts page for an overview of the fee for a session with each type of provider and whether or not their services are eligible for Medicare rebates.
