Peter believes that psychological intervention can provide life changing strategies that can dramatically improve a person’s quality of life and relationships, He has four principles that guide his interactions with clients
Psychoeducation – Give people insight into the nature and cause (psychoeducation) of their issue including neuropsychological factors.
Insight – Provide people with a safe place for them to explore their own thoughts and feelings.
Planning – Develop a collaborative plan so clients have some structure to follow. Monitor, evaluate and modify if required.
Tools – Provide psychological tools for use in everyday situations.
Peter has completed a Bachelor of Behavioural Sciences and a Graduate Diploma in Applied Psychology. He also completed several specialty courses including Trauma Therapy and Clinical Hypnotherapy. Following his completion of the Graduate Diploma, Peter was awarded a Master’s in Business from Monash University focusing on areas of consumer and organizational behaviour.
His expertise lies in his ability to build rapport with clients and help them understand the nature of their issue through the assessment phase. By being better able to understand the problem and the contributing factors, clients can begin to demystify and focus on solutions, Peter likes to work with clients to develop a plan that can be monitored, evaluated and modified if required.
Couples Counselling - Peter conducts all sorts of relationship counselling from young couples who want to get off to a good start to couples facing difficulties after spending many years together.
