Our garden
At 4thought psychology, we are proud of our garden. We think of it as a never ending, changing landscape.
As a holistic practice we acknowledge that our environment and what we put into our bodies affect our mood and emotional well being. Our garden is designed to provide a therapeutic environment to engage children, create experiences for them to learn and express their internal emotional world. Our garden reminds all that enter it about the importance to honour nature and how nature helps us to ground, gain perspective on what’s important in life, and rejuvenate. We can all create this important part of life in our most sacred place - home. |
Our animals
Animals promote human well-being in many ways, so with the incorporation of animals in the therapeutic process clients are better able to develop their social skills; gain understanding regarding their peer and family dynamics; strengthen their attachments; understand and therefore improve their behaviour; regulate their mood; and manage their anxiety.
At 4thought psychology we understand the value of working with animals in therapeutic practice. Animals have the potential to teach us a lot about ourselves; giving us non-threatening but guided opportunities to reflect on and work through our history, emotional state, cognitive functioning, presenting behaviours, relationship dynamics, attachment style, and social skills to name a few.
